"description": "Join us for the launch of the Camden Climate Taskforce! The Green Progressive Alliance Group are delighted to invite residents, community groups and local organisations to the launch of the new Camden Climate Taskforce (CCT). Following calls from Climate Emergency Camden for a stronger response to the climate and ecological emergency, Green councillors have come together to establish a new Taskforce to help turn climate ambition into meaningful local action. The Taskforce will bring together councillors, residents, campaigners and experts to scrutinise Camden’s progress on its climate commitments, champion practical solutions and push for greater ambition. From preparing Camden homes to deal with over-heating and flooding emergencies, to making buildings more energy efficient, shifting to renewable energy and protecting nature, we want to explore how Camden can become a greener, fairer and more resilient borough. The launch will feature a panel discussion with: - Dee Searle – Climate Emergency Camden - Mark Shayler – Sustainability expert and author - Cllr Richard Atkins – Co-chair, Camden Climate Taskforce - Cllr Andre Lopez-Turner – Co-chair, Camden Climate Taskforce - Other panellists tbc This will be followed by a screening of 'The National Emergency Briefing', a powerful film bringing together leading UK experts to explain the scale of the climate and nature crisis and the urgent action needed to tackle it. Whether you’re already involved in local climate action or simply interested in finding out more, we’d love you to join us.",
