"description": "The first round of Chicago’s municipal elections have concluded and the results raise many political questions for socialists, the left, and the working class. What could happen to Chicago under a Paul Vallas administration? A Brandon Johnson administration? What can socialist and progressives learn from the different campaigns that won and lost down the ballot? For activists who worked and volunteered on campaigns, what were your personal takeaways and lessons learned? Chicago DSA’s Political Education committee and the 25th Ward IPO invite you to discuss these questions and more with comrades and fellow travelers. This event will be our first “Socialist Open House” with a format similar to our Socialist Night Schools (with small-group and large-group political discussion) but with no required reading and space for casual socializing over drinks and food. We highly recommend attending in person at the 25th Ward IPO office in Pilsen, however we will be working to make this a hybrid event with a chance for virtual participation through Zoom. All attendees must show proof of vaccination to enter and will be required to mask at all times when not actively drinking or eating. All are welcome, DSA members or not.",
