"description": "On Wednesday, March 20, 8 p.m. ET - join us, for the Medicare for All Florida monthly meeting, with the following guest speakers: Tricia Beck, is a volunteer lead with the Florida Access Network, on organization which through community organizing, aid, and widespread education, provides abortion funding, practical support, and reproductive health aid. The coalition Floridians Protecting Freedom, of which Florida Access Network is a member, has collected more than 1.4 million signatures for a ballot initiative, so that in November Floridians have an opportunity to vote on abortion rights with Amendment 4. What might be effective ways to speak about that reproductive care is healthcare? Learn more with Tricia's presentation "Compassionate Conversations with Conservatives". Alex Newell Taylor, has been a community organizer with National Nurses United (NNU), the largest professional association and union of registered nurses in US history, since 2019. Alex is a part of a dynamic team organizing a large-scale public campaign to win Medicare for All, and is integrally involved in the union’s work on congressional, gubernatorial, and presidential independent expenditures. Before coming to NNU, Alex was the Deputy Director of Voter Engagement for the Second Chances Florida/Amendment 4 campaign, which restored voting rights to 1.4 million people with previous felony convictions. Alex will speak about why nurses have led the fight for Medicare for All for decades. How could we help as Floridia residents with NNU's exciting "Patients over Profits" campaign? Join us on March 20 to learn more! After the remarks of our guest speakers there will be a Q&A section - bring your questions! Register on this page, to receive the Zoom link to join us on March 20.",
