Senator Sasha Pérez was elected in November, 2024 to represent the state Senate District 25, replacing Senator Portantino who termed out. The district includes the cities of Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank and Altadena, in addition to large portions of the Angeles National Forest. Since graduating from Cal State LA with degrees in Political Science and Economics, Senator Pérez has worked on pressing policy issues, led statewide campaigns, and educated constituents across California on how to effectively fight for policies to improve their community. In November 2020, Pérez was elected to Alhambra City Council and immediately sworn in as Mayor. She has been appointed as a member to committees that have critical connections to climate change and environmental issues. Her committees include Budget and Fiscal Review, Environmental Quality, Human Services and Public Safety. The proceedings in these committees will be essential to the work in her district, that was recently impacted by the wildfires in Altadena.",
