"description": "We’re mobilising 60,000 people to get Jamie Driscoll elected as the Mayor of the North East. This is Green New Deal Rising’s BIGGEST campaign of the year and we need our whole movement to come together and make this happen. On the 16th/17th of March, join us for an action weekend in Newcastle and Durham, to get 1,000 people signed up to vote Jamie and support the campaign. On Saturday we'll meet at 11 in Newcastle for a briefing and some lunch, then pair up and head out to knock some doors! Don't worry if you've never done this before, we'll make sure you have everything you need and can be paired up with someone experienced if you want. On Sunday we'll do the same in Durham - meeting at 11, eating together, and then heading out to the streets. Both days we'll finish around 5 for tea, cakes and a quick debrief before heading home. We'll get you from Newcastle to Durham or vice versa - come along for the full weekend and make some new friends while we power through to our target of 1000 new voters! Whether you come to one/both of the action days, every person counts, and the more doors we knock, the more votes we can secure for our GND Champion Mayor. We can help with transport costs for people in/around the North East to get to Newcastle and Durham, and we'll put on food/hot drinks too.
