	"description": "Portland DSA Labor will give a flash training in preparation for May Day 2026. DSA is in a very big coalition locally and nationally to demand from the ruling class and failing two party system that our government tax the rich, abolish ICE, end the war, and expand democracy. May Day Strong calls working people to take a personal day (if they can), not shop, and skip school to show our power. In order to drive turnout and kickstart a movement for a real general strike by May Day 2028, DSA members will need to learn how to organize at their workplace. This event is open to all workers - union or non-union. You will be provided with the basics on how to ID leaders, map/chart your workplace, hold structured organizing conversations, and make asks. Portland DSA will also inform you on how to protect yourself and your coworkers.",
