	"description": "The United States may be a “nation of immigrants,” but there have been many recent disturbing developments, from the national scene down to the local level, that threaten our immigrant neighbors. These actions put both documented and undocumented immigrants and their families at risk. What particular problems do “dreamers” face? What immigrant-friendly protections can reasonably be initiated? How can concerned citizens work with local, state, and national efforts and partners to protect the immigrants? Hear George Clack, a highly effective member of Indivisible HoCoMD’s Immigration Action Team. Since retiring from the State Department in 2008, he has been teaching literature, film, and social media at Johns Hopkins University and Howard Community College. Join us for this short presentation on how to defend immigrants in Maryland and Howard County, and continue with a conversation on making safe communities a reality. We have a private room that will allow us to enjoy conversation on this subject and to discuss related issues promoted by Our Revolution Howard County.
