	"description": "Pedal for Peace &amp;amp; Climate’ (P4PC) is a one-day cycling event, organised by young people, which will take place in Bujumbura, Burundi, on 2 October 2026, in collaboration with the University of Burundi Students’ Union and climate activists. This initiative brings young people together to promote peace, climate justice and sustainable mobility. Through a group cycle ride, participants will raise public awareness of the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, phase out fossil fuels, promote renewable energy and develop safer infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians. In a country and region that have experienced conflict and social divisions, P4PC also uses cycling as a symbol of unity, solidarity and peaceful collective action. The event will provide an opportunity to spread awareness-raising messages and foster dialogue amongst young people, with the possibility of launching a petition in favour of safer and more sustainable urban mobility in Bujumbura.
