Black Rock has been economically exploiting Global South countries for decades through debt traps. They buy up debt bonds of countries that are economically struggling and then they hike up the interest rates on the debt so the countries get stuck in an endless cycle of debt. From this position they are forced to extract fossil fuels that destroy their environment in an attempt to pay of some of the debt. Black Rock has massive investments in many of the major fossil fuel companies, so it is in their interest to use debt traps to force expansion of the fossil industry in the Global South. What we need to break out of this colonialist cycle is debt cancellation for the Global South! This is a crucial step towards economic independence for the Global South and global climate justice. And we need everyone who can make it to come out and support the call for debt cancellation.",
