"description": "The Reclaim Our Power: Utility Justice Campaign is building a movement for utility justice in California. Our goal is to replace PG&E and California's other for-profit investor-owned utilities with a safer, cleaner, and more affordable not-for-profit energy system. On Tuesday, July 15th, the Oakland City Council will vote on a resolution for utility justice. The resolution calls on the governor and state legislature to support Senate Bill 332, which would commission a study to explore transitioning away from PG&E and other investor-owned utilities, to a not-for-profit utility that would put people and the planet before profits. Please join advocates and community members for a short rally at 2:30 pm in front of City Hall. Then join us inside at 3:15 pm to sign up to speak and share your public comment. The City Council meeting begins at 3:30 pm, and the resolution for utility justice is on the consent calendar, up first on the agenda. Thank you for your commitment to advancing clean and affordable energy as a human right in California!",
