"description": "Join us for an archival reading group session exploring the DSA’s feminist materials from the 1980s! As our starting point, we’ll be reading a 1982 pamphlet, "Feminist Perspectives on the Family," written by the DSA's Feminist Commission (and rediscovered at the Interference Archive in Brooklyn). The pamphlet offers a unique insight into the contested debates around the family from a socialist perspective at an important moment when “the family” was being increasingly claimed as a central focus by the Right in the 1980s. Come to learn more about and reflect on DSA history and to reconsider this writing, themes and debates from today’s perspective. Please read the pamphlet in advance if you can, but also feel free to show up and we can recap the main points together too. Here are more DSA archives (from before the 1970s): https://democraticleft.dsausa.org/",
