"description": "Next week, Congress is expected to take up the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, the most pro-worker, game changing legislation since the New Deal. The PRO Act is a historic opportunity to rewrite the rules of the economy by finally allowing workers of nearly every sector to stand together in unions freely and fairly without fear or intimidation from their employer. We have a problem here in Oregon: Congressman Schrader was not surprisingly one of only seven Democrats to vote “No” last time the bill came up last year. Just last week, Congressman Schrader was one of only TWO Democrats to vote “No” on COVID relief. It’s time we ask Congressman Kurt Schrader, “Which Side Are You On?” This International Women’s Day, March 8 Oregon’s Labor Movement is mobilizing at his congressional offices both in Oregon City and Salem to demand an answer to answer that very question.  ⚠ COVID-19 PROTOCOLS Attendees must wear a mask. Hand sanitizer will be provided. If you’re not feeling well, or at risk, please do not attend and instead call the AFL-CIO PRO Act Hotline at 1-866-832-1560 and urge your Representative to vote “YES” on the PRO Act.",
