"description": "In partnership with 45 other states, Kentucky will join the Poor People's Campaign Moral Monday event with a Protest and Action at Sen. McConnell's Lexington office, asking the pointed question : "Do you support our Demands?" We demand that the Senate: End the Filibuster Pass all provisions of the For the People Act Fully restore the 1965 Voting Rights Act Raise the federal minimum wage to $15/hr We will show up with singing. We will show up with art. We will show up as people speaking out about how we are impacted by McConnell's obstructions that are in the way of Kentuckians who demand a healthy democracy and an economy that lifts from the bottom. Will you be there? We must move FORWARD TOGETHER, NOT ONE STEP BACK! The Poor People's Campaign is grounded in a fundamental principle of nonviolence. Toward that, we are encouraging attendees to these events to attend a Nonviolence Training before Monday's actions. The training will be online via Zoom and there are two opportunities to attend: Thursday, July 22 at 6:30 pm CT / 7:30 pm ET or Saturday July 24 at 9 am CT / 10 am ET",
