	"description": "Connecticut residents have an opportunity to speak up before the state finalizes health insurance rates for 2027. On Wednesday, August 26, the Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) will hold its 2027 Health Rate Public Informational Session, &amp;nbsp;where members of the public can ask questions and provide comments about the proposed health insurance rate filings. Health insurance costs have a real impact on individuals and families across our state. This session is an important opportunity to hear directly about the proposed rates, ask questions, and make sure the experiences and concerns of Connecticut residents are part of the public record before CID releases its final rates. RSVP to let us know you’re coming! Want to speak at the session? Members of the public may provide comments in person or virtually. To speak virtually via Zoom: You must email cid.ratefilings@ct.gov by 5:00 PM on Monday, August 24 with your name and written comments attached. To speak in person: RSVP with CCAG first. Once you arrive, you can sign up at the Legislative Office Building before the session begins, following the building’s sign-up procedures. Important: RSVPing on this page lets CCAG know you plan to participate or attend, but does not register you with the Connecticut Insurance Department to speak virtually. If you would like to testify by Zoom, you must also email CID by the August 24 deadline. You can also review the 2027 Health Rate Requests, read CID’s Annual Health Insurance Rate Filings Fact Sheet, and submit public comments directly. Whether you plan to speak, ask questions, or simply show up and listen, your participation matters. Join us on August 26 and help make sure Connecticut residents have a voice in the decisions affecting the cost of our healthcare. RSVP to join us on August 26 &amp;nbsp;and don’t stop there! We encourage everyone attending to also submit a written comment to CID urging the Department to reject unaffordable rate increases.
