"description": "Join us as we work to connect knowledge sharing networks among youth and adult with in community spaces and academia to environmental justice advocacy in South Phoenix. We will use artistic design methods to describe and express environmental (in)justices. In this workshop we will Shift the idea of art being an activity of purely personal reflection, but as a reflective cultural design process that articulates connections between natural and built human communities. Tierraarte is about cultivating a sense of wonder toward the places we inhabit, an awareness of the cultural and ideological forces that threaten them, and motivation to take action. This is our first Tierraarte (eARTh) which will focus on the Past-Heat and Land, We will also be hosting an upcoming Tierraarte focused on the Present-Land and Water, and the Future, Water and Wind. In addition, we will host a final “Art of Breath” community and youth symposium.",
