It provides an exciting new opportunity to tackle and invest in some of the vital areas and issues that affect people’s lives. In 2024, we will be voting for a new, regional Mayor, who will lead the North East Combined Mayoral Combined Authority and become a key power holder in our region. As this important election draws closer, Tyne &amp;amp; Wear Citizens invite you - members, friends and supporters - to our Mayoral Assembly on 22nd April 2024, 6-8pm at the Tyne Theatre &amp;amp; Opera House in Newcastle. At this Assembly, the main candidates will be asked to respond to some of the issues that Tyne and Wear Citizens have been campaigning on after an extensive listening campaign across the region.  We will also be seeking on ongoing working relationship between whoever is elected. The Assembly will bring together over 1000 people who reside in our region. We would love you to join us. Tickets are required but can be booked for free here.",
