"description": "Workers deserve it all. To win power at our workplaces, workers need to organize themselves through shop floor action informed by class analysis and study. Historically, the workers’ movement employed the democratic format of the workers’ study circle as a tool to study and reflect on strategy, tactics and goals within the labor movement. It is in this spirit and format that the Labor Working Group is starting our own Worker Study Circle. Our first session will be June 7 and focus on workplace and union democracy. How is workplace democracy both a goal and a strategy of winning power in our society? What would a truly democratic workplace, fighting the bosses and the capitalist profit motive, look like? This conversation will be led by comrades from DC37 (a large public sector union) and EWOC (DSA’s Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee), members who have won power in their union and helped workers organize their workplaces. Our workplaces are ours to master and to own, come participate in a discussion that helps us along the way.",
