More on the Your 2 Cents Campaign The Your 2 Cents Campaign is an initiative petition and ballot measure campaign to give working-class Portlanders direct voice and vote over the Portland City Budget. Your 2 Cents Campaign charter amendment, which emerged from a DSA-backed policy developed by the 2022 Charter Commission- would allow all residents in the City— including 150,000 young people and non-citizens who cannot vote in elections- a decision making power over 2% of the general fund discretionary budget, by requiring the City Council to establish an annual or bi-annual Citywide participatory budgeting program starting in 2028. The first cycle would allocate at least $16 million to feasible City projects and programs developed and determined by and for residents. The Your 2 Cents Campaign is a vehicle for moving towards City Budget that works for working class needs not ruling class greed. It presents a huge opportunity for Portland DSA to directly link the Chapter&#x27;s tentant, ecosocialist, resiliency and other organizing efforts directly to real budgeting power. But first we have to pass it in November. We need DSA members to get involved in signature gathering to submit 60,000 sigantures by July and then door-knocking and phone bank to win on the ballot in November!",
