"description": "The March for ‘Life’ must not gather in Washington on January 21. Sign now if you agree. The Omricon variant of the coronavirus is ripping through cities, and D.C. has been hit especially hard. D.C. has seen some of the highest case rates in the country, with over one hundred thousand as of this week and weekly deaths topping one thousand. [1, 2] Now is not the time to host a super-spreader event, especially with a sizable portion of participants traveling from afar, many of them all too happy to chant “my body my choice” when they don’t want to wear a mask or be vaccinated. [3] Moving forward with the March for ‘Life’ will cause harm. COVID is particularly dangerous for people of color, many of whom are crucial frontline workers in the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C. [4] It must also be noted that children under the age of five are not yet able to access vaccines and pediatric hospitalizations are skyrocketing. [5] There is only one pro-life thing to do if you actually care about babies: To shut down the super-spreader March for ‘Life.’ We have a duty to keep our communities safe. Let the March for ‘Life’ know they’re not welcome to spread illness in D.C. and then bring it back to their own communities. Reproaction successfully pushed the March for ‘Life’ to go virtual last year, [6] but the pandemic is not over and neither is our resolve to keep people safe, no matter what. Cancel the March for ‘Life’ 2022.
