"description": "Sign up to receive action alerts on the struggle to reclaim the historic Roof Depot warehouse in Minneapolis. Together, we're working to create a vibrant cooperatively-owned space and indoor urban farm with affordable housing, rooftop solar energy, gathering space, and much more at the historic Roof Depot warehouse. However, the City of Minneapolis plans to bring more pollution and traffic to East Phillips. They're pushing a public works facility at the Roof Depot with hundreds of vehicles including diesel-fueled trucks — despite commitments to reduce pollution. Our neighborhood already has some of the highest rates of asthma, lead poisoning and heart disease in the state. We have an opportunity to prevent the city from moving forward with their plan if we can raise the money to buy the site from them. We need to pass State legislation by the end of session this May that would allocate this funding. Join our broad coalition to make the vision of an indoor urban farm and community hub a reality and to to shut down nearby toxic industrial sites. Fill out this form to receive action alerts, updates, and ways you can help.",
