"description": "It's critical that we build off the momentum from the recent passage of the wage theft policy and implement it right, which means we need terrific people like yourself on the Fair Employment Wage Board! The FEWB is a six-member board appointed by the Mayor that plays a key role in enforcing the Wage Theft Ordinance, as well as the city’s Fair Employment Act. The job of the FEWB is to: Review reported violations Maintain public lists of employers who commit wage theft and other violations Give recommendations to City Council about violators and requests for exemptions Keep the public informed about their workplace rights and how they can be protected by the Wage Theft Ordinance In short: the FEWB makes sure that the Wage Theft Ordinance and other pro-worker laws are enforced and effective. Requirements for FEWB members: Must be a Cleveland resident Must not have any contracts, loans, grants, or financial assistance from the City of Cleveland If you're interested in being considered for the board, please let us know!",
