"description": "The Coral Triangle (known as the 'Amazon of the Sea') is the global epicentre of marine biodiversity. It contains: 76% of the world’s coral species, critical tuna spawning grounds, Vast mangrove carbon sinks, and supports 120 million people. Fossil gas expansion, in particular LNG import terminals, is planned to rapidly escalate across the region. Over 100 operating offshore oil and gas blocks More than 450 additional exploration blocks 19 operating LNG terminals 27+ proposed new terminals If exploration blocks proceed, countries in the region will be locked into fossil fuels, and up to 16% of the Coral Triangle could be directly impacted, with dire consequences for people in the region and the climate. Communities on the ground have been resisting fossil fuel expansion in the region, with many successes. We are supporting their fight by educating insurers about the risks and impacts and pushing them to refuse or withdraw support for these projects to go ahead. Join people from across the world to fight for the future of the Coral Triangle.",
