	"description": "As Veterans, active military, and military family members, we denounce the Trump administration&#x27;s illegal and unprovoked strikes on Iran and urgently demand an immediate end to this reckless operation. The overwhelming majority of people in the United States do not want this war and we call on the public to join with us in refusing to allow another generation of lives to be destroyed by corrupt politicians who don’t care about us, about the lives of our troops, about the actual needs of U.S. communities or about the immeasurable cost people around the world will pay. Many of us still bear the wounds of decades of endless, disastrous wars where we were promised a righteous cause but in truth were sent to kill and die for wealthy politicians based on lies. Many of us specifically saw the death and destruction with our own eyes when President Bush claimed we were going to liberate the people of Iraq and protect the American public. That war is now referred to as a “blunder” but it was an intentional crime against humanity just like this Trump instigated war on Iran will be. Already there are reports that dozens of innocent children were killed in these strikes? How many more will die? Millions of people were killed in Iraq, including friends of ours whose willingness to sacrifice for their nation was utterly betrayed. And make no mistake, the people who sent us there got richer with every drop of blood spilled. We have not forgotten and we will not stand by while it happens again. Congress must act to stop this. The people must rise up and demand that they do. Add your name if you agree.",
