	"description": "Paid &amp;amp; Volunteer Position Description The Arab American Civic Council is looking for paid and volunteer Field Canvassers to participate in a short-term civic engagement program ahead of the March 3rd, 2020 CA Primary Elections. The position is based out of our office in Anaheim, CA with traveling around Orange County, as assigned. Ideal candidates will be community-oriented individuals who are passionate about creating positive social change and empowering Arab American communities. Prior experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for all. Essential responsibilities include: Canvassing: Visiting registered voters door-to-door to encourage them to vote in the March 3rd CA Primary Election and to participate in the 2020 Census. Skills &amp;amp; Qualifications - Enthusiasm and demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse community members. - Ability to speak Arabic is preferred but not required. - Reliable transportation to travel throughout Orange County preferred. Compensation &amp;amp; Employment Schedule For those interested in the paid Field Canvasser position, this position is short-term. This employment is for the period of February 15 – March 3, 2020. Paid Field Canvassers are expected to attend a training. Paid Field Canvassers are expected to attend all 10 canvassing dates: - Weekdays Feb 18 - 27 (3:00pm-8:00pm) - Saturdays, Feb 15, 23, 29 (1:00pm-6pm) - Sundays, Feb 16, 23, March 1 (1:00pm-6pm) We welcome volunteer Field Canvassers to attend any dates that they are available. Hourly rate: $15.00 per hour. Meals and refreshments will be provided.",
