"description": "We call on the governments in Westminster and devolved countries, to take urgent action to properly fund NHS healthcare providers (including outsourced services) to protect them from damaging cuts that are putting patient care and staff wellbeing at risk. NHS healthcare providers are being pushed to breaking point. Rising patient demand, growing waiting lists, and exhausted frontline workers are being met with demands to cut spending and “do more with less.” Years of underfunding, combined with the impact of the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, have left health services struggling to cope. Across the healthcare services, cuts are taking many forms, including voluntary redundancies, down banding, staff working above their pay band, and the failure to backfill vacant posts or absences. This salami-slicing approach is having profound consequences for both staff and patient services. We call on the Government to: · Stop job cuts in NHS healthcare providers and protect patient care. · Implement Covid Inquiry recommendations · Improve support for NHS healthcare providers. · Ensure staffing levels match rising demand for NHS services. · Protect the jobs and value of all staff - clinical & non-clinical. · Provide long-term funding to secure the future of the NHS.
