"description": "Right now, the decision on whether new UK oil is 'climate compatible' rests with the UK government. The consultation closed towards the end of 2025 and now the Energy Secretary Ed Miliband and the cabinet are making their decision on whether to approve or reject the drilling of the Rosebank oil field by Equinor and Ithaca. Fossil Free London are prepared to respond if Rosebank is approved. We need you to be ready to join us for a week of action in central London if this carbon bomb is approved. We will not know when this will be - it could be any day now - but we do know that the government's verdict will either be climate denial or climate action. We will announce the start of, and location(s) of, actions on that day. We can't do this without you. We need numbers to show unequivocal opposition to this climate disaster. The more days you can attend the better. Good numbers will be particularly important on the day after the announcement. Even just one day is brilliant so don't let the fact it's a week of action put you off! What you need to do now: 1.
