	"description": "Each year, the 40th Ward Dems will hold an annual membership meeting to engage neighbors in upcoming election. As the inaugural event, we will share with you the bylaw and rules of the ward organization, have the Executive Committee introduce what they&#x27;ve been working on and opportunities for you be involved, hear from our elected officials about the upcoming 2020 General Election, and appoint officers for the 40th Ward Democratic Organization. This is a family-friendly event and anyone who is interested in volunteering regardless of where you live can attend. Please fill out the form and indicate which volunteer activities you may be interested in for the 2020 General Election. By RSVPing to this event, you submitting to the mailing list. FAQs General Membership shall be open to all people who support the purposes of the Organization set forth in Section 1.02 of these By-Laws. Voting Membership shall be open to all General Members who also are one or more of the following: A registered voter whose principal residence in the 40th Ward; A person who maintains a business within the 40th Ward; A person whose principal place of employment is located within the 40th Ward; A person who is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in the 40th Ward. Voting Membership shall have all privileges and rights of General Members and also shall have the rights to participate in the selection of officers of the Organization and to serve on the Organization’s Committees. Status as a Voting Member will be conferred based on provision of a material level of volunteer effort on behalf of the Organization, as judged by the Executive Committee. Anyone who helped build the ward organization from April 2020 to the date of the 2020 Annual meeting has been granted voting membership upon the first Annual Meeting. All members (General, Voting, Executive) are asked to do the following to maintain their active status for one year: a. Pay annual dues of $40 - Donate here. b. Volunteer four (4) hours on behalf of the 40th Ward Democrats or c. Attend the annual event Event paid for by 40th Ward Democratic Organization",
