	"description": "Every worker in Australia should have basic rights and dignity under our laws, and for gig transport workers it is long overdue. Because there are no minimum enforceable standards, gig companies keep lowering pay and conditions of workers to compete with each other. Delivery and rideshare companies make you work harder, faster and under more pressure for less. This is not sustainable for gig companies and it is unfair and dangerous for hard working gig transport workers. Recently over 1000 of you shared some of the shocking experiences you’ve had in the gig economy... We found that 45% of you that you are earning less than minimum wage and that more than 50% of you have experienced threatening and abusive behaviour. It&#x27;s time to win. Thanks to your efforts, and the efforts of thousands of other transport workers, the Federal Government has now tabled legislation that, if passed, would provide rights and standards to all gig transport workers. We can have a safer, more equal, and sustainable gig transport industry that benefits all once we have law in place. Parliament will soon be voting on this legislation. After years of fighting, the opportunity is in front of us right now. By signing this pledge, you promise to support transport reform, and call on Federal Parliament to vote up the legislation, by attending a convoy action on the 25th November 2023 together with other transport workers.
