	"description": "Most folks hear about the Green Party in terms of electoral politics, but the Greens are much more than a political party -- we&#x27;re also a movement for a new type of politics and society. Left Green politics anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian, and libertarian, and is influenced primarily by social ecology, the study of connections between nature and human society via a mix of ecological understanding with socialist and anarchist ideas. Our vision and goal is creating an ecological society based in social justice, peace, and grassroots participatory democracy. This reading group will analyze historical leftist movements, the current capitalist system, and ideas for an actionable strategy to reach the type of society we envision. New reading group members are welcome at any time! Each session will feature new readings meant to be accessible to new members. While this reading group is primarily meant for prospective and long-time Green Party members, we welcome all leftists to join and learn more about Green politics and philosophy.",
