"description": "By becoming an Our Hawaii member, you agree to abide by and commit to the 13 Our Hawaii Movement Principles. Read the principles here. Our movement only works if everyone feels connected, included, and empowered to help decide where we go. That’s why we’re building a democratic membership structure, so together, we drive collective action across Hawaiʻi, grounded in the voices of our people. What it means to be a member Voice & Vote Members shape the direction of the movement through democratic decision-making. Belonging Be part of a network of hui and ʻaha across the pae ʻāina. Commitment Show that you’re in and ready to build a better Hawaiʻi with your community. Membership Dues Suggested: $5–$10/month Give More if You Can: Higher contributions strengthen our budget and expand our reach! No One Left Behind: If you can’t contribute financially, you can still be a full participant in your hui or 'aha. → Email alihilani@our-hawaii.org with “Membership Dues” in the subject line. Bottom line, we are asking people to put some skin in the game so we can build this thing together. This is how we support our neighbors as well as our movement. How Dues Are Used All dues go directly to sustaining the movement: - People Power: Island-wide organizing spaces, resources and coordination for local hui, support from staff - Elections: supporting our governing power building work and Our Hawai'i Pledge candidates - Operations: Covering core costs so we can focus on building people power. Reminder: By becoming a member, you commit fully to abiding by the Our Hawai'i Movement Principles (found here).",
