And we rely on individual donations from these communities in which we organize to allow ourselves the freedom to carry out our grassroots work. But this year due to the pandemic, over 90% of our members lost their jobs and have been fighting their landlords and evictions. Because of this, we are facing a $40,000 gap in our membership dues as more folks are struggling than ever before, unable to make their monthly commitments. Everyone pays what they can, anywhere from $1 to $15 a month, to sustain our city-wide neighborhood-based organizing.
