Once BESE makes their proposal to the legislature, they can only vote 'yes' or 'no' — they can't make any amendments. That is why it's so important that BESE makes a proposal that will: Be approved by the legislature: If they propose too much spending and the legislature votes 'no' then teachers and support staff will get no raise. Ensure that the money meant for raises will actually go to raises: By securing the money in level 3 of the MFP formula BESE can insure that all teachers and support staff get a raise.
