"description": "Birmingham Bin Strike Get The Deal Done! At last, a deal is finally in sight to end the Birmingham bin strike. After 15 months of this hard-fought dispute, the Council has put forward an improved offer to end the strike, based on the “ballpark” deal agreed at ACAS. A big thank you to everyone who has supported the bin workers! The support of the people of Birmingham has been crucial in getting to this point. But we still need to get it over the line. No one knows who will be in power in Birmingham after the election on 7 May. So we need to make sure all the other parties and independent candidates will also back this fair deal. And there’s one more issue. The reason the deal still isn’t signed is because the unelected government-imposed Commissioners have been blocking it! We need to make sure they get out of the way. So now we are asking party leaders and independent candidates now to support the statement below. Please click the link to contact them and ask them to sign up! If elected on 7 May, we want party leaders and independents to: Stick to the “ballpark” deal Not let the Commissioners block it",
