"description": "Cardamom workers have been organizing since the summer of 2025 to ensure basic protections in their workplace against violent and unlawful immigration actions, culminating in a strike on January 25, 2026. Following the strike, owner Daniel del Prado finally addressed the crisis faced by his hundreds of employees, agreeing to the posting of 4th Amendment rights signage and to providing bilingual trainings at all DDP Hospitality locations. Unfortunately, the worker trainings were inadequate. In this context, it is especially disappointing to see Cardamom workers recently terminated – and with only 3 days’ notice. Adding insult to injury, Cardamom basically has chosen to replace these dedicated and longstanding workers with QR codes. The recovery of the restaurant industry following Operation Metro Surge cannot come at the expense of workers. All workers have the right to safety and a voice in their workplace. Please email DDP HR today to ask them how they plan to meet the three demands of the recently terminated Cardamom front of house staff.",
