"description": "Corvallis City Council has the authority to approve the funding that will provide City of Corvallis workers with affordable healthcare premiums and long-term investments in our careers with the city, but they are choosing not to. Without this funding, we have no choice but to go on strike on October 14th. We testified at the at the City Council meeting on Monday, October 5th, and shared how much this community means to us. We told them we do not want to go on strike, that we love the work we do, and that we don't want to disrupt community services. Their response was to approve the use of contractors to come take the place of workers who are heading to the strike line. It's time to tell Corvallis City Council to do the right thing -- give the city's bargaining team the funding they need to settle a fair contract and avoid a strike!",
