"description": "TELL YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVE TO SUPPORT THE BI-PARTISAN RESOLUTION TO RESTRICT WEAPONS SALES TO SAUDI ARABIA Saudi Arabia is a notorious human rights violator at home, treats woman as property, is a wellspring of religious extremism that acts as an incubator for al Qaeda and ISIS, is a despotic hereditary monarchy that imprisons, tortures and beheads its critics, and is committing war crimes in its wanton slaughter of civilians in Yemen. Yet each year the U.S. sends the repressive Kingdom tens of billions of dollars in arms, including cluster bombs and other munitions it is using against civilians in Yemen. Congressmen Ted W. Lieu (D-CA) and Ted Yoho (R - FL) in the house and Senators Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Rand Paul (R-KY) have introduced joint resolutions (H.J. RES 90 and S.J. RES 32) to impose limitations on the transfer of air-to-ground munitions and other weapons from the United States to Saudi Arabia until the U.S. government certifies that Saudi Arabia is not providing funding, support, or aid to foreign terrorist organizations; is taking all feasible precautions to reduce the risk of harm to civilians and civilian infrastructure; is complying with international humanitarian law in Yemen; is facilitating delivery of humanitarian assistance, commercial goods, fuel and commodities to civlians; and is taking all necessary measures to target designated foreign terrorist organizations, including al Qaeda and Islamic State in its military operations in Yemen. SEND YOUR REPRESENTATIVE AND SENATORS A MESSAGE TO URGE THEIR SUPPORT OF THESE RESOLUTIONS.",
