"description": "Donald Trump is actively violating the Constitution and pushing the limits of executive power in ways that threaten the very foundation of democracy. Reports claiming he rescinded his federal funding freeze are false, the White House confirmed that while they rescinded the memo, the freeze itself remains fully in place. This is a deliberate tactic to deceive the public while keeping the damage intact. This is just the latest in a pattern of unconstitutional abuses. Trump is already ignoring birthright citizenship laws, issuing an illegal executive order to deny citizenship to American-born children of undocumented immigrants. He has illegal ICE raids targeting non-criminal undocumented immigrants, violating their due process rights. And he has illegally fired inspectors general and career civil servants at the Department of Justice in an attempt to purge the federal government of anyone who won’t fall in line. Trump’s endgame is clear. He has nominated Russell Vought, one of the chief architects of Project 2025, to run the Office of Management and Budget. This is no coincidence. Vought’s job will be to decide what federal funding is disbursed and what they will illegally attempt to withhold, ensuring that Trump’s next action will be even more extreme, more targeted, and harder to undo. He plans to starve programs, consolidate power, and punish his political enemies all while normalizing illegal executive actions to make them harder to challenge in the future. Each time he gets away with bending or breaking the law, this administration will take it a step further the next time. If his latest abuses are allowed to stand, the next round will be worse, and the legal and political barriers to stopping him will be weaker. Congress and Governors must act immediately to block these illegal actions by any means possible. Governors have the power to resist Trump’s unconstitutional orders right now. They can file legal challenges, refuse cooperation, and block federal overreach including even sending the National Guard and calling on local law enforcement to protect people from illegal immigration raids. Congress must use every tool at its disposal. Even without Republican support, Democrats can use oversight powers to issue subpoenas, hold hearings, and propose emergency legislation to stop Trump’s lawlessness before it becomes entrenched. There is no time to wait. We must take action now before Trump locks his grip on power and makes these abuses permanent. Click ‘START WRITING’ to sign and send a letter to both your members of Congress and your governor to step up and stop these unconstitutional actions by any and all means possible before it’s too late.",
