Perhaps even more outrageous than canceling the elections is a PNB proposal to replace the Bylaws-mandated elections with a strange process of filling vacancies of terms that have expired with candidates who lost the last election - yes, they want to seat people rejected by the members to replace LSB members whose terms expire this year! These elections are clearly mandated by the current bylaws. They are not optional. Canceling elections is the classic signature of an authoritarian regime — Pacifica was formed to fight injustices like this. Today we, the undersigned, pledge to fight back to preserve democracy at Pacifica. Use this form to send a letter to the PNB. You may use the sample letter we&#x27;ve provided, or edit it as you wish to add your own feelings about the PNB&#x27;s betrayal of democracy and failure to fulfill the Pacifica mission.",
