"description": "Arts and Park Lovers! WE NEED YOUR HELP The 2026-2027 proposed City of Los Angeles budget includes an $800K cut to as-needed salaries within the Department of Cultural Affairs. This will further reduce access to facilities across the City, including those at Barnsdall Art Park: Hollyhock House, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Barnsdall Arts Center / Barnsdall Junior Arts Center, and Barndall Gallery Theatre. Less money to pay staff, means fewer staff - and that means fewer hours and fewer days for the public to have access to its cultural institutions. Last year, we asked you to share your voice and wow, did you come through! YOU helped save funding for LA’s only UNESCO World Heritage site, Hollyhock House. We are calling upon our community once again! LA should celebrate its wealth of arts and culture and increase its commitment and access to the arts - especially heading into the 2028 games. Let your voice be heard. Send a letter to City Council members today.",
