"description": "Over the past few years, both CTA workers and riders have had to suffer through deteriorating conditions and service on the trains and buses, all while the CTA Board does little to nothing. Rather than spend more time and money to improve transit equipment, fairly pay and protect employees, and maintain equitable and reliable service for riders, the board instead hands out multi-million dollar contract deals for more and more private security services that keep no one safe. Bus routes continue to get cut, train times continue to get longer, and more CTA workers are leaving their jobs due to lack of safety and respect. Under Dorval Carter, the only solutions that get proposed are ones that steer the CTA away from being a world class service and risk weakening the city of Chicago. We’re calling on Mayor Johnson and Govenor Pritzker to first fire board President Dorval Carter and hire a new president ready and willing to fix the CTA — by working transparently and collaboratively with both riders and our ATU locals 241 and 308 Click “Start Writing” to tell Brandon Johnson & JB Pritzker you want a CTA president who will work with both riders and workers from ATU locals 241 and 308, to fix the CTA! *A sample letter will be provided, you can also use your own words",
