"description": "Gatwick Airport has just slammed a multi-million-pound deal with Uber, plastering the airport with Uber-branded signage and pick-up points that destroy local businesses and push Crawley’s licensed drivers to the brink. They’ve ripped out disabled parking bays to make way for Uber pick-up zones in short-stay car parks — a blatant attack on accessibility and local community needs. This deal completely undermines the hardworking Crawley drivers who have invested their time, money, and effort to meet strict local licensing and environmental standards. And it goes against Gatwick’s own promises about the northern runway plan, which committed to 54% of passengers using public transport — now sabotaged by Uber’s unchecked presence. Gatwick Airport's leadership must take immediate action and: Enforce the Authorised Vehicle Area (AVA) strictly for pre-booked fares only. Block access to the AVA for any driver without a pre-booked fare. Remove all Uber-branded pick-up points and restore disabled parking bays immediately. Re-establish the Airport Cars Gatwick Advisory Group — with real driver representation. Enough is enough. Send and email to Gatwick Airport’s CEO and Board of Directors and demand they stop sacrificing local jobs and community wellbeing for Uber’s profit.",
