"description": "The city has proposed 24/7 bus lanes on Hastings in front of Hastings Park. These lanes are facing pushback from local businesses, even though buses can bring far more customers to their front door than parking spots ever could. We need to defend them from being scaled back, which has happened to bus lanes in this city again and again. The lanes also don't go far enough. 25,000 people will go to Hastings Park every day during FIFA, and the lack of midday and weekend bus lanes between the park and downtown means rideshare will clog up the streets and make traffic unbearable. Even without FIFA, there are thousands of commuters who waste time stuck in traffic and would benefit from all day bus lanes on Hastings. Let's ask the city to do better!",
