"description": "With your help, we have a good opportunity this year to win health care for adjuncts at state universities, community colleges and all of the UMass campuses. Legislation that would provide health care to adjunct faculty was reported out of the Joint Committee on Higher Education with tremendous support from the committee's co-chair, Representative John Scibak. To keep up the momentum, your legislators need to hear from you. The bill, H. 4153, An Act investing in public higher education, would provide adjunct faculty who teach at least two three-credit courses in a semester, or four courses in an academic year across all campuses at which they work, the same eligibility for employer-sponsored health insurance as other workers. Please ask your state representative and senator to convey their support for H. 4153 to the chair of the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing, Senator James Welch, and the vice chairs, Representative Jeffrey Roy and Senator Joseph Boncore, as well as to members of the leadership team of the House and Senate.",
