"description": "The North Dakota State Mill and Elevator is one of the most efficient operations of its kind in the country, and the only that is state-owned. During the last year, the hard-working members of BCTGM helped the mill and elevator create a record profit of $24 million, effectively doubling the profits of the previous year. For decades, workers at the state mill and elevator have enjoyed sharing in a portion of the profits that they create for the state of North Dakota. Now many Republicans in the North Dakota House want to take away that important profit-sharing employment incentive, effectively cutting the grain millers pay by 10-15%. Members of the North Dakota Senate disagree, and it will be worked out in conference committee by a small group of members from both the House and the Senate. Read HB 2014 here. Watch floor debate here. Read the Grand Forks Herald Editorial here. The members of the conference committee need to hear from you! Let them know that you support gain-sharing for the hard working grain millers at the North Dakota Mill and Elevator.",
