None of the 46 recommendations made by the bipartisan Oklahoma Death Penalty Review Commission Report (2017) on death penalty practices have been implemented to-date, despite the fact that the commission identified necessary reforms to ensure the death penalty would be administered accurately and fairly. Oklahoma has wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death at least 11 innocent people who were later exonerated. Other innocent people may still be facing execution. That’s why we are joining with legal reform advocates across the state of Oklahoma to call for pause on executions. Please join us in asking Oklahoma legislators to support S.B. 601, authored by Senator Dave Rader (R - Tulsa) which would place an immediate moratorium on executions.
