"description": "Here’s a quick opportunity to push our representatives to muster the political will to address climate change sooner rather than later. SF Climate Emergency Coalition and allies have been advocating for a bond measure to fund our city's Climate Action Plan (CAP) for almost a year. We've gotten lip service and feel-good resolutions, but no climate bond is in line for the ballot, now or 10 years into the future. There IS a $300 million Affordable Housing Bond scheduled for this March. It specifies $30 million for "preservation": rehab and/or acquisition of existing buildings for affordable housing. We want the preservation fund to have a requirement attached that these units or buildings be made all-electric. Please tell the Mayor and Board of Supervisors President Peskin - the sponsors of the bond - that you want the City to require the electrification of these existing buildings. Ask that they write that as an amendment to the Bond Measure. It would be a first small step by the City to begin to get methane gas out of homes. Use our handy letter-writing tool as is, or personalize your letter. The Mayor and the Board President are discussing the bond content NOW. Write ASAP and definitely by Tuesday, Oct 24, before the Budget and Finance Committee meeting happens the next day. aaron.peskin@sfgov.org mayorlondonbreed@sfgov.org",
