"description": "Last Wednesday, the US Senate voted to use the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to uphold net neutrality protections. This is a huge win - and the majority of credit goes to our activists around the country who have rallied, made phone calls, and spread the word about net neutrality over the past year. THANK YOU! Now that we've cleared the Senate, the resolution moves to the US House of Representatives. We need 218 Representatives to sign a "discharge petition" - which would bring the bill to a vote on the House floor - in order to save net neutrality. Three of our seven US Representatives from Colorado have expressed using the CRA to reinstate net neutrality protections: Reps. DeGette, Polis, and Perlmutter. The remaining four have not: Reps. Buck, Coffman, Lamborn and Tipton. Net neutrality rules are set to expire on June 11, 2018. Without these protections, internet service providers like Comcast and Verizon will be able to slow or restrict your access to some websites – either by charging you more money to reach them or just censoring them altogether. They will also be able to charge content creators - including small businesses who sell their goods and services online - additional money in order for the public to access their website. We cannot afford to lose a free and open internet. Please contact your US Representative RIGHT NOW and ask them to sign onto the discharge petition to force a floor vote on net neutrality.",
