"description": "The Trump administration is removing and targeting national park signs, exhibits, and educational materials that tell the truth about slavery, Indigenous history, civil rights, environmental harm, and climate change. A federal court ordered the administration to restore removed materials by July 4 and stop additional removals. Then, just before the holiday weekend, an appeals court paused that order, allowing the Trump administration to avoid restoring signs while the legal fight continues. Congress cannot leave the truth of our national parks at the mercy of court delays and political censorship. Lawmakers must act to protect the National Park Service’s educational mission and make sure public lands tell the full story of this country. National parks are public classrooms. They help students, families, educators, and visitors understand the land, the people who lived on it, the violence carried out to seize and control it, the labor that built this nation, and the climate crisis reshaping it today. The Trump administration wants a version of American history that hides slavery, softens colonial violence, erases Indigenous survival, and buries climate science. That is an attack on every student who deserves an honest education and every community whose history has already been denied for generations. The public is making clear that national parks should teach real history. Congress needs to hear that message directly from constituents. Click “Start Writing” to tell your members of Congress to restore removed national park signage, stop further removals, and protect truthful history and science in every national park.",
