	"description": "The Anaheim Union High School District plans to put an end to the Arabic Language Program at Western High School, the only such program in Orange County. The District claims that due to budget cuts it will require the removal of some courses and the Arabic language program is being targeted for these cuts. Many educators have suffered from a lack of assistance from their respective School Districts. Still, most educators do not face the removal of an entire language program that caters to the needs of one of Anaheim&#x27;s ethnic populations. According to canvassing conducted by the Arab American Civic Council, West Anaheim has the highest rate of residents from the Middle East and North African region in Orange County. Removing the Arabic language program will significantly impact these students&#x27; ability to learn their language and will affect other students&#x27; ability who want to learn Arabic. We request your support in sending letters to Superintendent Michael Matsuda&#x27;s office and the Anaheim Union High School District Board of Trustees to urge them to keep the only Arabic language program in Orange County. We ask that AUHSD implement an additional language program at Cypress High School, where there is a greater demand for an Arabic language program.",
