	"description": "Christi Fraga has proposed item H-12, which would update the current Miami-Dade County Public Schools&#x27; Flag Policy to prohibit any flag other than the American flag or the Florida flag and motto on school campuses. This would ban the flag of any other country in the classroom, as well as pride flags. We know that this policy is an unnecessary attack on queer visibility, but it also has collateral damage to boot: the Hispanic community. This policy isn&#x27;t just homophobic; it also erases the heritage of our diverse community in Miami. H-12 silences students, parents, and teachers and enforces the same white nationalism we have seen from Christi Fraga repeatedly. Make your voice heard so MDCPS knows that this item is out of step with the people of Miami. In addition, we need to mobilize people to show up to speak at the meeting itself (November 16th, around 4:30 PM). You can find the speaker request form here. The form needs to be filled out and emailed to request4appearance@dadeschools.net no later than Monday, November 14th at 4:30 PM.
